Blogging: Then and Now

Image
As you can see from the bar graph above, you'd immediately notice that I have made most of my posts back then in 2014. I was blogging on an almost daily basis back then in 2014. Every time something good happens to me, I would make a blog post about it; the same way goes for the bad things that happen to me. This blog was my diary back then, my own personal friend that I can tell all of my secrets to. Now, things are a little different, and not all of the changes are good. For those who have been reading this blog ever since it started back in 2013, you may notice that most of my posts from 2013 are now gone. Honestly speaking, if I were to count all of my posts published today (excluding this one), it would be around 117. But what most people don't know is that I have 105 posts that are marked as drafts. That's 47% out of all the posts I've made all in all. 47% of hidden content, just waiting to be published. Mind you, 47% is a high number. If you didn't know 4...

My First Term: My Professors

My first term in college has come to an end and it's now time for me to prepare for the second term—time to turn the heat up. Honestly speaking, my first term has been . . . AWESOME. I mean, it's been an entirely new experience compared to high school and, just wow, were the classes were just awesome. My lineup of professors and the subjects they were assigned to us were just perfect. I'm not sure how to start, but I'm going to talk about the core of my first term first: my professors, and what better way to start by talking about my professor who has influenced me the most. For now, let's call that professor of mine "Miss Mina." (That's not really her name, so I'll just use it as an alias for her.) Hooh, Miss Mina has been, literally, the best professor I ever had. In fact, I don't even feel like I'm a student in her classes, but as a friend. Sure, there's still some sort of "professionalism" in her class, but it honestly...

I'm Not Dead . . . Yet

As what the title says, I'm not dead . . . yet. I haven't posted on this blog for 2 months or so, and I'm so sorry if you think I abandoned this blog or something. I was just really, really busy with college, that's all. After being in college for 3 months, I could only come to one conclusion: it's hard as well. Grueling is a more accurate word to describe the tasks and assignments I have been often assigned to do. Since it's our "all-English" term (we mostly have English subjects), we've been mostly focusing on doing a lot, and I mean a lot, of paperwork. Honestly speaking, I felt like I just chopped down 2-5 trees just to account for all of the papers I've submitted this term. AND THIS IS JUST THE ENGLISH TERM . Just wait till you see what my next term is mostly about: MATH. That's right, MATH: Mental Abuse To Humans . My most hated subject in the world, math. If my skills in English is bad, just wait till you see my skills in math....

Letting Go

It's sad and depressing, to say the least, that things weren't as the same as they used to be. People, who I loved being with, have slowly drifted away from me and I've been left to linger on what we had back then and wondering what happened to us now. This doesn't only apply to one person but to all of my friends that have forgotten me. Ah, those past experiences, the memories we shared together, the times when we helped each other. It was fun and I loved every minute of it. It is hard to say that I have to let go of all of those things bugging me at night. I'm pretty sure you're starting to wonder why I'm doing this or for what this is for. Not to be too selfish, but I'm doing this for myself. As you know, I have trouble letting go of the past, and that often bugs me, it brings me problems at night, I start to wonder what happened, all that stuff. Well, now, I've decided to just forget all of those memories in order to make space for new on...

A Trust Exercise

Ah, it really is fun meeting new people and being friends with them, don't you think so? Sure, it can be fun meeting new faces and people who don't know you every once in a while, but I sometimes ask myself, " Can I trust these people? Can I expect them to keep my secrets and be really trustworthy friends? " Today, I learned the answer to that question, and the answer is quite depressing. I ran a trust exercise 2 or 3 years ago, I told my 2 best friends at the time that I had a crush on my big sister, Elaine. Of course, they thought that the secret was real when, in fact, IT WAS A LIE . I never had a crush on Elaine, ever. Elaine was really more like a big sister to me rather than a romantic interest. But anyway, let's get back to the point. I wanted to test out my 2 best friends if they can really be best friends I can trust. And, the answer to that is NO . Within days or weeks, Elaine found out the so-called secret as the word got around. Even Elaine'...

After Hours: Satireday Nightly

Image
Well, since The Weekly Potato was axed last year, I decided to make a new post series this year to replace The Weekly Potato. After months of deciding on what the new weekly post series is going to be about, I finally came up with a new theme for the new post series: nighttime . I chose nighttime because, first of all, I love the night. I love seeing the lights of buildings in the city when looking from afar in a tall or high building. I also loved gazing at stars at night. So, I decided to combine both of those things in the theme and then I decided to work on the photo in Photoshop. I decided what the new post series was going to be about, and I decided on satire  and I decided to name the new post series " Satireday Nightly " because I have to post it on a weekly basis on a Saturday night (since I have nothing else to do on a Saturday night). You'll notice the words After Hours below the logo of Girls & Peace because that's what I'm going to ca...

My First Week of College

Image
A darkened and blurred photo of the college I'm currently studying in. It was very easy to find my college based on that picture, so I had to darken, crop, and blur the photo. I can confidently say that the first week (or, in this case, the first 3 days of college) were AWESOME . Man, the TV shows and movies were right, college is (probably) the best part of my life. It's been great so far, I have more freedom in what I want to do. I get to wear clothes that I like (although I still have to follow a dress code, but still, I prefer business attires over uniforms). I get to freely roam around during my long break. When I said "I get to freely roam around during my long break," I really mean it. Heck there are even students who go to malls nearby and even some of them go home. It's a long break, and the institution isn't prohibiting anyone to go anywhere. You can literally go anywhere you want during your long break—that alone is a good enough reason why ...
